Took me a mini vacation from work. I have been lazy the whole time.

Bath day for Baxter...Good thing we did it early also as it is pouring rain right now. Tony has gone to a soccer match and I would imagine he will come in almost if not wetter than Baxter was earlier...LOL

Cardinals tonight...Woo Hoo !!

Elantis gives out their Stadium seats to employees and tonight is Tony and my night to go to the ball park...

Cardinals play the Reds... Am sure hoping the weather cooperates. We woke to Thunderstorms this morning and it still looks like it could rain more.

I will be tired tomorrow at work but it is sure worth it just to get to sit at the ballpark and watch the game....

Two months since I have posted

Gee the time flys...
I spend alot of time on my facebook now as they have a virtual farm game that I love to play. Also discovered my first cousin Duncan from Flint Michigan on there so we have been kinda catching up with what each other has been doing for the last 30 years.
My daughter text messaged me the other day and mentioned that I don't get on here anymore to let everyone know how I am doing.
Well just like everyone else just struggling to survive.
I did go back onto my celexa and all those problems I was having have straightened out.
My sister text messaged me yesterday that Mom had surgery on her wrist. I felt kinda left out of the loop on that one but I understand.
I let Baxter out front to run for a little while this morning and after we had been back in for awhile (me playing on my farm) . I went into the kitchen to pour me some more coffee and noticed that he wasn't in his recliner where he usually lays. I looked all over the house for him and even went outside looking... Starting to panic, I came back inside to decide what to do next and there he laid under the dining room table watching me the whole time I was calling out his name. Guess he thought "there goes that crazy lady again looking for me and right here I am".
Am beginning to wonder about myself since I can't remember where I left the dog at....LOL
I start back full time at work this next week and am really looking forward to it. Those 6 days off in a row can be rather boring and depressing.
Well the weekend is almost upon us and I hope everyone has a good one.

Have a Great Weekend...

Here it is my day off and I have a hundred and one things I should be doing but I am still drinking my coffee and lazying about. Going to catch up on the emails and then I am off to grocery shop. Not much going on here this weekend. Wouldn't ya just know it is suppose to be nice and sunny on my weekend to work.

Baxter got bored...LOL

When I got home from work Baxter was laying across the back of his chair by the frontroom window. When he saw me get out of my car he jumped down, not to greet me but to run and hide....hahahahahaha

These were a pair of Tony's house shoes and last winter when he would wear them he would chase Baxter with them. Guess Baxter decided today to pay back them shoes and ripped the stuffing out of them...Am so laughing my back side off here...hahahahahaha

I took a pic and sent it to Tony at work.... It was his idea to finally leave Baxter out of his cage while we were at work....hahahahahaha

Beth called a few nights ago to let me know that they spent several hours with the family. She was so excited over it.. That is one thing my daughter is all about "Family". I could tell from her voice that she had a Wonderful day.

We spent the day yesterday washing vehicles, hoping the rain would wait until we were finished. It didn't but we finished them anyway...hahahahaha

Feels like Summer...

Doesn't seem like I have much time to be on blogger like I used to.
Feels like Summer outside today. I had to turn the attic fan on early this morning. I have the next few day off
and plan on doing some major cleaning in the basement. Since I have moved here I have had to take one part of this house at a time to clean. It is a full size basement so this could take me some time to accomplish all that needs to be done. There is over 20 years of accumulated junk down there and I plan on having one big yard sale to get rid of all of it. Tony says we will do this but so far only one part of the we has been involved.. hahaha
I got to see Marsha this past weekend. Marsha came up for a Cardinals day game and we met her at Applebee's in Arnold for dinner. It was such fun. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Did me alot of good getting to see someone from the family.
Our neighbor has put their house on the market and they have had open house all week and Baxter has been busy greeting them all from his side of the fence.
I spent yesterday outside in the flower beds getting it ready for some plants this weekend. Had Baxter on his chain and when I went in the house for a break he decided to help. When I went back outside he had one whole corner of the flower bed dug up...hahaha Needless to say that chain has been shortened and he can no longer reach it. Don't know why he decided to do that as when he is off the chain in the front yard he knows not to go into that bed.

Tony left Baxter out of his cage today... Surprisingly he didn't destroy anything...Maybe he is settling down some...
I had a small sewing kit that he got off of the table and opened up but left it alone after that...Am glad I moved my flowers to higher ground this morning....LOL Last time he was left out he totally destroyed them as they were on the dining room table where he can reach.
Today went alot better for me as working takes my mine off going home...
It is gorgeous outside so I plan on getting into the flower beds after dinner and deweeding a bit...

Mother's Day

Hmmm talk about a fuzzy picture...LOL My card I got from Beth and the flowers I got from Baxter...
Was a good Mother's Day although I am very homesick right now. Talking to family members should help but at this point I just want to go home for a visit. The pills I take for depression do not help with homesickness.
I go back to work tomorrow so at least I will be busy and not having as much time to think...
Tony is off for an afternoon game of golf and Baxter and I are thinking of playing dress up, well at least one of us is thinking about it...hahahahaha

8 a.m.

Stormy morning here. We had a really loud crack of thunder a few minutes ago and Baxter jumped out of his chair and hihg tailed it into the bedroom. He is now sitting on top of the bed, wide eyed and I guess waiting on the next roll of thunder...LOL

Well the weekend is almost here and it will be too damp outside to do to much of anything so it looks like we will be working on the inside of the house.

Well the back yard is a mini flood but all the bad weather passed south of Saint Louis. We had some pretty stong winds there for a little while.

Wednesday

Cloudy, damp day here in Saint Louis. This is my day off and with still not feeling well, I am just puttering around the house.

When I got home from work yesterday Baxter had his face up in the front window looking out...Oops...Someone has discovered how to get out of his cage...LOL Fortunately the house was not a big mess. He had cleared off everything from the kitchen table and the bedroom dresser and had it scattered all over the house. Tony and I had been discussing leaving him out of his cage and seeing how he did. Well now we know, he still wants to get into everything. Guess he gets bored..LOL When I came into the house he was cowering at the end of the hallway. All I could do was laugh about it especially when I saw how he was reacting. His cowering was short lived once he found out I was not upset over it. Guess it is time for a new cage or to start leaving him out during the day. Today he is running all over the house because I am home and he doesn't have to go into the dreaded cage.

Slowly springing back

Still feeling the effects of bronchitis, mostly just alot of coughing and the headaches that go along with it. Tony has it now... Baxter is the only one running around here with any amount of energy...LOL

Although this next week he might not have all that energy as we are taking him to the vet to be Neutered. The vet is recommending this as she found some abnormalities and doesn't want to take a chance on it turning into cancerous cells.

I am scheduled to work double shifts this weekend. I will definitely be dragging come Monday... A lot of remodeling going on at the hospital due to the Swine flu in the U.S. now. They are adding on reverse air flow in several rooms on every floor to accommodate the need if it arises. I just hope they don't need them.

Tony's daughter-in-law is in Mexico right now. She already had her trip to Cancun scheduled and decided to take the chance and go ahead with her plans.

Weekend

Was a very warm weekend here. Today we have rain and cooler temps...
At least I am feeling better. We had all kinds of cook out invites but chose to stay at home and work in the yard and on the house and we just cooked out ourselves here. Was a lovely weekend.
We gave Baxter a bath with the water hose yesterday...I wound up more soaked than him...He just doesn't like that spray action...LOL

Wow..It feels like months since I have been on blogger... Reality check it has only been a week...

I have been recuperating from Bronchitis. I still have a nasty cough that leaves me with headaches.

Spring is definitely in the air and my allergies are telling me all about it...

We are hoping this weekend to get out and plant grass seed in the back yard. The electric company did it in the front yard and where they planted it has turned out beautiful. I went out and asked them what the trick was and they told me to get hay and toss it out and then spread the grass seed on top of it. So this is what we will be trying.

Tony has gone golfing this afternoon so Baxter and I were left at home to do dishes and laundry and we had some time in between loads to get out the camera and play dress up...LOL

Monday

I went into the kitchen for a small bowl of ice cream last night. Walk back to the computer room and sit down and began to read some more on the Internet. (It was one of those insomnia nights) . I was enjoying my little treat...all of a sudden...I realized my lap was really getting cold for such a small bowl..DUH! I glanced down at my lap, here I had brought the WHOLE pail of ice cream with me and stuck my bowl in the freezer! LOL

Tony mentioned yesterday about trying to leave Baxter out of the cage while we are at work soon. He doesn't like leaving him in that cage all day long.. Well I don't like it either but I like it better than coming home to a house that is destroyed...LOL That is one thing that Baxter sure can do and has done on a few occasions.

Tony and I are both off today, Tony and Baxter are already taking a nap this morning...Although they won't be doing that in a few minutes as I am fixing to start vacuuming the house..LOL

It's a chilly, rainy day here in St. Louis. We won't be doing any outdoor activities today. Tony still has a few electrical outlets to change out and I am planning on using the carpet cleaner in the bedrooms.

I talked to Beth yesterday and she says they are all doing well although her back is still hurting her. She sent me this picture yesterday. Such Cuties. We are hoping to go down to Arkansas for a visit in a few weeks. I miss those grandbabies.

Tony and his buddy are back to working on the house this afternoon. All of the guys went on a golfing trip at Lake Of The Ozarks over the weekend.. Baxter was very upset the whole weekend.. He is still upset today as he is left in the house while all the of activity is going on outside..LOL

We had frost and freeze warning last night but the day has warmed up considerably with the sunshine.

Well it's just Baxter and I for the weekend. Tony has gone off on a golfing trip with his buddies. I have to work this weekend :-( Baxter is a good guard dog so I don't really worry about staying by myself.

We have a chance of snow come Monday. I haven't planted my flowers yet. Keep hoping it will warm up and stay warm.

Weekend....

The weather outside right now is Sunny and warm but according to the news we are suppose to get a cold rain ending in snow tomorrow and tomorrow night. What few flowers I have budding are not gonna like this. Am hoping most of it goes either north or south of us...

Took Baxter with me to the store awhile ago and he is finally figured out how to keep his footing on those leather seats.
If I start braking for a stop sign he sits down immediately...LOL Otherwise he winds up in the floorboard. LOL

The weekend is finally here and I am off for it...Thank Goodness.
Tony and I plan to start prepping the front room walls for a coat or two of paint. One wall is papered and I still haven't decided if I want to strip it or just paint over it.

Baxter says Hello.....

I have several days off from work and Baxter and I have been cleaning carpets this morning. Rather I have been cleaning, he has been chasing the shampooer barking and growling at it..LOL

Tony has been busy the last few days trying to find siding that matches what is on the house so they can finish it up this next week.

I have been busy the first part of this week working a double shift everyday as they had quite a few people out sick with the flu. Considering the hospital made all of us get a flu shot this year, alot have still gotten it.

Was watching the weather this morning and we have a chance of snow this weekend...What...I thought Spring was here !!!!!!!!!!!!

We have been busy around here this week. Tony and his buddies have been busy everyday after work finishing putting siding on the back of the house. They ran out of siding so it looks like Baxter and I will get a break from all of the noise for a few days. They still have to do the side of the house over the garage and then it will all be complete...Thank goodness.....

Me a Doofus.....LOL

Whoever looks at the end of your clear plastic wrap box? You know when you try to pull some wrap out and the roll comes out of the box. Then you have to put the roll back in the box and start over. The darn roll always comes out at the wrong time. Yesterday I went to throw out an empty clear plastic wrap box and for some reason I turned it and looked at the end of the box. And written on the end it said, Press here to lock end. Right there on the end of the box is a tab to lock the roll in place. How long has this little locking tab been there? I then looked on the front of the box and it plainly states "With PUSH 'N LOCK Tab on each end panel." I can’t count the number of times the Saran wrap roll has jumped out when I was trying to cover something up.

Gonna have to chalk this one up to one of my Doofus moments....hahahahahaha

Tony came in a few minutes ago looking for a bandaid, guess he mistook his finger for a trim nail...Ouch !!

Was another adventure at work today as a few co-workers and I got stuck on one of the elevators. I have discovered that this will cause me to panic big time. We were only stuck about 30 minutes but that was 30 minutes too much for me. I am definitely ready to take my meds today...hahahahaha

I have the day off tomorrow and I plan on not setting my alarm clock and sleeping in.

I think I was on automatic pilot from the minute my head lifted off the pillow.

My feet sure didn't want to get put into my shoes this morning...Poor things...They feel abused...LOL

I had to play housekeeper today, I haven't had to do that in weeks since I have been made a official floor technician.

About lunchtime I remembered just exactly why I moved from housekeeper to floor tech. I was in a patients room cleaning talking with the lady and she was chuckling at all we were talking about and a few hours later they were paging "Dr. Heart" to her room.. I stood by and held her daughters hand while they worked to resuscitate her. Alas it did no good and she was gone. I still feel sad over it.

Tony and his buddies are still hanging siding on the back of the house today. They are hoping to get done before it starts to rain.

An Irish Blonde In A Casino..Happy St. Paddy's Day !!

An attractive blonde from Cork , Ireland arrived at the casino. She seemed a little intoxicated and bet twenty-thousand Euros on a single roll of the dice. She said, 'I hope you don't mind, but I feel much luckier when I'm completely nude'. With that, she stripped from the neck down, rolled the dice and with an Irish brogue yelled, 'Come on, baby, Mama needs new clothes!' As the dice came to a stop, she jumped up and down and squealed...'YES! YES! I WON, I WON!' She hugged each of the dealers and then picked up her winnings and her clothes and quickly departed. The dealers stared at each other dumbfounded. Finally, one of them asked, 'What did she roll?' The other answered, 'I don't know - I thought you were watching.'

Tony, I and Baxter went to a dinner at his son's house Saturday. Everyone got drunk, except for me I was drinking my coke and coffee.. I can't drink along with the meds I am taking. Being the sober one, I had to walk several of the neighbors there home otherwise no telling where they would have wound up...hahahahaha Tony got so blitzed that I decided that we would just stay there Saturday night or at least what was left of it... Yesterday was a lazy day, I had several naps throughout the day, just not used to late nights..hahahaha Baxter and Tony slept most of the day...

Now Today I am catching up on housework and laundry and grocery shopping as I go back to work tomorrow.

The weekend is here.....

Ah the weekend is finally here and it is suppose to be a nice weekend temperature wise...Well the 50's but that will be nice enough. Not nice enough to take the bike out but we will be able to go around town and sight see. Tony usually takes me to different places on the weekends. Last weekend I was off, we went around to all his old neighborhoods where he grew up here.

We went by lumiere place, which is a hotel and casino and traveling down I70 they have a gigantic screen outside their building that shows movie advertisements at night. Tony says he just can't see how that is legal because it is very distractful when driving by as you can't help but look at it. It is a sight to behold. When I am sitting with patients at the hospital, if their room is on the North side, I can see this building very clearly off in the distance as the colors change.

No sitting tonight as Tony does not like it when he comes home and it is just him and Baxter for the night. Guess he gets bored and he says all Baxter does is sit by the window and whine.

One of those days.....

When if it can go wrong it will....... I think I just got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning...LOL

I make my coffee first thing this morning and the liner apparently wasn't in the basket right and my whole pot was full of coffee grounds. Then I took the garbage out to the curb for pickup and on the way there I dumped the whole container. The phone has been at a constant ring with crap that I don't even care to answer (surveys), so I put the phone on ignore. Baxter is whining constantly... I call my prescription into the pharmacy and because of a computer glich they won't be able to get it filled until the technician gets there to look at their computers, which might be tomorrow.

Hmmmm....... Thinking of going back to bed and starting again...at least until 2 as I have to go into work at 3.

March 9th.

Surprisingly this week has been uneventful here. Tony took Baxter to the Vet Saturday for his shots and he weighed 69.8 lbs. It was my weekend to work so I was lazy everyday after I got home from work. We had storms all around us here in Saint Louis but they fell apart as they approached us and we just got a light sprinkle out of them. (Just enough to mess up my windshield on my car at work) I have to work one more day and then I have several off. I was looking forward to getting a little spring cleaning out in the yard done but it is suppose to turn off cooler after tomorrow. So it looks like any spring cleaning will be done inside instead. LOL

March 10th.

Haven't heard too much from my family this week so I am assuming everything is going well. As Mom always says "No news is good news". I have the rest of the week off unless the hospital needs a sitter. We reached 80 degrees today. I will be glad when Spring is here to stay...

Scamp...5/02/91-03/06/09

My daughter's cat Scamp passed away this morning. He was almost 18 years old.

I remember the day she went and picked him out. He was in a cage with alot of other kittens and he was off to the side by himself and his meow was really gravely. She fell in love with him instantly. When we brought him home, along with all the accessories she was trying to decide on a name and as luck would have it we had purchased a bag of Scamp kitty litter. He was named after a bag of litter. Within a few days we realized he was sick and took him to the Vet and come to find out his voice was so gravely because he had a cold.

He had quite a personality...Beth would sit at one end of the living room and shoot rubber bands across the room and he would jump and chase them.. He always was one who demanded alot of attention. He would yowl in your face and talk to you until you finally paid him his due attention.

I will miss "Gampers" and my heart breaks for my daughters lost of her dear companion of 18 years.

Bye-Bye

Had to go to the Market and Pharmacy earlier and looked at Baxter and said "Come on and let's go Bye-Bye". Now everytime you say this to him he starts jumping and squirming and spinning in circles...Not this morning he went and sat down in his cage... After this past weekend, I guess he has had enough of Bye-Bye's...hahahahaha

Well my work week starts tomorrow and it will get pretty busy around here so I won't have much time to be online.

I hope everyone has a good week. We are suppose to warm up this week, sure hopes it stays that way. I for one have had enough of the cold temperatures. And I have definitely had enough of Snow for this Winter Season.

What a wild weekend Tony and I had. We decided to go to Arkansas and take the babies their Swing, Playpen and Double Stroller. We decided to take Baxter with on this trip. Talk about a exciting trip.





About halfway from Saint Louis to Arkansas it started raining on us.





We let Baxter outside in the back yard when we got to Mom's and before the visit was over he was a muddy mess. We had to clean him up before he could go back into the car for the trip to Beth's.





When we arrived at Beth's it started sleeting outside and before long it was snowing hard.





We got to visit with the family for a few hours before we had to head back to Jonesboro to the Motel for the night because it was starting to stick to the roads. We had just put Baxter into the car when my daughter yelled out her front door for me to come back in for a minute. Sebastian was panicking because Grammy was leaving without him. I had thought about taking him with but figured with the roads getting bad my daughter wouldn't allow it. Needless to say he packed a bag and we took him with us overnight.





Sebastian and Baxter ran each other down in the Motel. We ordered pizza and had a great time. When we settled down for bed, Baxter decided it was time to go on guard duty and kept us up for hours barking every time a door closed or someone walked by the door.





It was a very slippery ride back to Trumann from Jonesboro. We dropped Sebastian off and got back out on the road. The roads in Arkansas were bad, we saw a Semi without his trailer go off spinning into the median. That was shocking as he wasn't very far ahead of us. From Trumann to Paragould we saw numerous vehicles off in the ditches.





Once we got into Missouri the roads were fine and about 50 miles into Missouri there wasn't hardly any snow on the ground. Guess we took the snow to Arkansas and left it...hahahaha



We were definitely tired once we got home. Baxter immediately jumped into his recliner and went to sleep.. I told Tony he can't keep up with us and Tony said that we can't even keep up with us....hahahahahaha

Another day...

69 for a hight yesterday and 39 is the high predicted for today. Thunderstorms rumbled through last night which means the back yard is a mess and whenever Baxter has to go outside I will have to put him on his leash and take him out front. I don't mind just tired of the winter temperatures, I am so ready for Spring warmth.

Started Laundry early this morning and fell up the stairs, so this tells you how my morning so far is going..LOL

I am sitting with a patient at the hospital tonight so hopefully by then my day will be going alot better :-)

The pic above is of Baxter after he got in trouble this morning. Apparently he decided to pull all of the covers off the bed and make a bed for himself at the foot of it. Wasn't so bad but he decided everything on the dresser should be there also...I was in the basement folding clothes when all of this was going on. When I cam up stairs and went to the room to put the clothes away I found a mess on the floor and he was laying up on the pillows in the bed. I swear he had a smug look on his face that said...See what happens when you leave me alone !!!
