That " N" This

Beth sent me this picture on my phone yesterday. Stacey is on the left and Samantha is on the right. They are sure growing.

Tony and his buddy are back to working on the house this afternoon. All of the guys went on a golfing trip at Lake Of The Ozarks over the weekend.. Baxter was very upset the whole weekend.. He is still upset today as he is left in the house while all the of activity is going on outside..LOL

We had frost and freeze warning last night but the day has warmed up considerably with the sunshine.

Snow...

We totaled out with 9 inches of snow on the ground. Baxter and I took out the Trash Can to the curb this morning and between going out there and coming back he jumped on me and knocked me down 4 times. I was covered in snow from head to foot by the time I got back into the house...LOL

Nice Day

Has turned out to be a bright sunny day here. The Electric Company is digging up the yard some more today. In fact they have our driveway blocked with their equipment. Baxter is ever present at the front window keeping a wary eye on them. When I let him out in the back yard he goes up to the fence growling at them...LOL
The little red fence in the corner of the yard in the pic is where they have a huge hole dug and tomorrow they will be tearing up that whole corner of the lot, laying down pipes.
Going to be a big mess come Springtime.

Tis Friday and I am off and it always seems like I am doing laundry on my day off :-)

Today Baxter and I are going out into the back yard and rake up the last of the fall leaves and those nasty gum balls. He has a hard time walking because they stick to his paws. It is suppose to reach 50 degrees today.

I am looking forward to the 13th of February as Tony and I have it scheduled to go home on. My Doctors appointment is the 16th. Baxter will be visiting the Kennel for those few days.

I have to work this weekend and the first few days of next week. With how the economy is I consider myself lucky to have this job. Tony's daughter is getting laid off from her job today.
Have a Great Weekend....

This is how I look and feel after my wild ride on the ice this morning...hahahahaha

The road I live on and main roads had been salted but when I hit the few hills on Dunn Road it was like a ice skating rink.

There were about 15 cars off the road and I was one of them. I came to rest on a steep embankment looking down in a Gulley. Luckily I missed hitting one car and slid right in between two others...I laugh now but at the time I wasn't. They finally salted one side of the road after about a hour and a half of all of us sitting there. No one needed medical help just a few fender benders.

The Police were directing us one by one helping us get back up on the road. Those with rear wheel drive did not make it out. I was one of the lucky ones with front wheel drive and I barely did make it out and back up on the road. I came home and called in to work and since they had enough help there to cover the floors they told me to just go ahead and stay at home for the day.

Needless to say Baxter was excited getting out of the cage early. He went right outside and slid down the driveway...

Took me forever to coax him back up the front steps and into the house. Now when I say "Outside!" to him he just lifts his head and stares at me (like I am crazy). He is not too eager to try that one again. I heard on the news this morning that if you put children's no skid socks on their paws that they can manage the ice. Right !! I can just see me trying to put booties on that 80 lb. Boxer...hahahahahahaha

Baxter has a cut on his ear that I have a hard time keeping a bandage on. He is really tolerant of me when I am playing nurse with his ear. LOL He goes back to the Vet this next month to have it looked at along with his annual shots.

I have the day off tomorrow so I will be playing catch up on housework. Tony is off for the week. He is working on the Van today.

The weather man says we have a chance of snow this next week. I am anxiously looking forward to more of it. Everyone at work calls me "crazy" for wanting more snow...LOL

I hope everyone has a Great Week !!!!

Baxter was cold....hahahahaha... I can't believe he let us put that blanket on him and actually sat still long enough for the picture to be taken.

We spent the day running all over Saint Louis and I am wore out.

I hope everyone is having a Great Weekend.

When I got home from work yesterday, Baxter and I decided it was time to play in the winter wonderland that was provided for us. Was a nice break on my nerves from having to drive in it for the first half of this week. He sure ran all over the place kicking up the snow with his paws, sliding all across the yard. Hahaha a few times he lost his footing and when he tried to get started again all he did was run in one place.

I definitely love where I live. I love the Winter Season and all that comes along with it. Everyone around me here is groaning and moaning about the precipitation but not me !!!!

Monday when the Hospital told me I was going to have to go to Barnes Care West (which is about 20 miles away) I sorta freaked out because the roads were icy and I called Tony and he just took off work and drove me over there. One thing I can count on is Tony. He takes good care of me. Driving in that stuff to work was one thing but getting out on the interstate in all that traffic was another story...

I don't go back to work until next Tuesday, so I am going to enjoy my mini vacation this week.

I am beginning to think I really don't have any days off...hahahaha I am always catching up on something on those days, today it is the laundry.
Baxter is whining at the front window as the squirrels are scurrying all over the place collecting food for the winter. When the wind blows the leaves he whines really loud, I haven't quite figured out what that one means yet. Although at this time last year he was just a pup so it might be that this is something new and different for him.
As you can see from the picture, the yard needs raked again. This weekend will be a busy time outdoors for Tony and I even though we have a chance of snow flurries this Saturday. Personally I am looking forward to some snow. Guess that is the one thing I miss the most from when I lived in Chicago. I am anxious to see how Baxter reacts to the snow.
